The Power of Spiritual Community

The Ancient Essenes

The Essenes were a healing community dating back to 4000 BC.  They were known as healers and teachers and had a deep connection to nature and the cosmic realms.  They had a love and responsibility for the earth.  Their main purpose was to seek peace for themselves and the world.

Today, the philosophy and principles of the Essenes remain the same:

  • Lives of simplicity and purpose
  • Inner healing and a unique psychology
  • Natural healing and alternative medicine
  • Creative work and right livelihood
  • The power of our word
  • Openness to evolving consciousness
  • Open mind, open heart and a willingness to step into the unknown.
  • Living in community – sharing work and resources.

The Essenes illustrated their relationship with the spiritual and natural forces with the symbol called the Tree of Life.  Each root and branch of the Tree represents a different aspect of life. The roots represent earthly forces or powers – the Earthly Mother, and Her Angels of Sun, Water, Air, Earth, Life, and Joy.

The seven branches represent the cosmic powers – the Heavenly Father, and His Angels of Power, Love, Wisdom, Eternal Life, Creative Work, and Peace. These angels are daily communions for morning and night.

The Sevenfold Peace

The path of the Sevenfold peace is a  journey for your soul’s unique expression in the world.    It’s a spiritual principle for your soul’s calling.  This path proves to be a powerful and spiritual method for harmonious living and a peaceful world – natural expressions of living our Divine potential.

We have an opportunity to heal our lives and examine that which hinders our expression of peace.

The following are the seven aspects of contemplation for the Sevenfold peace daily noon time communions

  • Peace with body
  • Peace with the Mind
  • Peace with Family
  • Peace with Humanity
  • Peace with Wisdom/Ancient Culture
  • Peace with Earthly Mother
  • Peace with Heavenly Father.

The Sevenfold Peace asks us to evaluate ourselves and the way we present ourselves in the world. With every thought, feeling and action we are creating and contributing.

Are we contributing to peace or more chaos? Am I building up or breaking down?

The Sevenfold peace offers an opportunity to become aware, awake and conscious.

To live in peace is to actively create Heaven on Earth

Love is the Answer

In my family we have several different spiritual perspectives. My Dad said when we were old enough to choose our spiritual path it would be up to us to choose one. And no matter what perspective we chose we support each other in that choice. In last week’s Meditation Healing Circle, we were talking about following a Divine plan. And if we sit and meditate to listen to wisdom of that plan our life will be divine.
