Start Again – Awaken Your Power to Heal
This week I was listening to Donny Osmond’s new album, “Start Again” and was struck by how much we judge ourselves in our respective healing journeys. He says, “We stumble and fall. Keep your head up and your heart open. Don’t give up, carry on. It never too late to start again. It’s never too late to find your way.”
My teacher, Ned Wolf wrote a book called, “Awaken Your Power to Heal”. In it he says, “We must claim our birthright to heal. We each have unlimited power to heal our life. And we spend most of our time resisting that power and arguing for our limitations. “Great One, he would say, I’m going to treat you as though you’re a powerful, unlimited being.” “Examine your own self-imposed limitations, and find out what they are costing you.” And then go out and shake up your personal universe.”
In life, we start again and again to heal our life so we can live a life we love from the inside out. No one is here to rescue you from your pain. It’s up to you to discover the blocks that keep you from being happy. Happiness is a choice.
And for me it’s a never-ending journey of healing and transformation trying to convince my mind that I am capable of healing my life and feel fulfilled and satisfied with how my life turned out. That I make a difference and I see the greatness in all people.
This week see if you can identify a blind spot that keeps you stuck in your life. I discovered mine. I realized I have a really psst off four-year-old that wants to go play. I keep myself very busy working and don’t allow enough time for spaciousness and play. It comes from being sexually abused at a young age when I was fully self-expressed. I made a vow at that age to tone it down and not draw attention to myself so no one could hurt me again. It has cost me in relationships with men because I don’t trust them. I had given up my power and I must stay hidden to stay safe. I’m in the midst of healing that limited thinking. I’m taking my power back and speaking up. I’m forgiving men and making peace with my past. And I have to tell you it’s scary to change that way of being after having perfected it for so many years. And it’s so worth it. I’m committed to living full out and being a beacon of hope for people to move beyond their pain and limited thinking to feel, heal and grow beyond their past way of being. To be in the present moment with love, peace and compassion for all of humankind. It’s a daily practice.
I need to take a page from my 18-month granddaughter Nova. She finds wonder and curiosity in the most basic things like rocks in the driveway, a blade of grass, a flower. She has no history or preconceived notions that her life is limited. She is loved and cared for unconditionally. She is a powerful unlimited being. How does she maintain that way of being by not letting life circumstances get in the way of her power to create?
I facilitate a weekly Meditation Healing Circle and we’ve been meditating about who do we need to become in order to be a powerful unlimited being? Their answers were amazing; Feel the fear and do it anyway, put yourself first, accept the challenges and know you are capable of healing your life, have respect for the power within, embrace the change, and be of service to name a few examples.
This week Awaken Your Power to Heal. I have a few spots available in my Wednesday Meditation Healing Circle. Please email me at masandagadd@gmail.com if you are interested in transforming your life.
